Sheltering the Homeless

Each year, the people of First Baptist Church Birmingham provide housing, meals and transportation to the resodidents of the South Oakland Shelter program for one week each year.

Ronald McDonald House

Early in 2007, the youth group at FBCB went to a local Ronald McDonald House to serve lunch to the guests staying there.

Friendship House

The congregation of First Baptist actively supports the programs of Friendship House.

Founded 76 years ago, Friendship House serves the residents of Hamrtramck, Highland Park and nearby Detroit neighborhoods, among Michigan's most impoverished communities.

Emergency Mortgage/Rental Assistance
Community Baby Showers
School Supply Packets.



FBCB is a founding member of the Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength (MOSES) organization.

MOSES is a congregation-centered commnity organization.  Members are congregations and institution across southeast Michgan, from all religious denominations and cultures.

MOSES' mission is to train people in congregations and other institutions to be leaders and to take action in the public arena on a variety of issues that include: crime, housing, urban sprawl, transportation and civil rights.
