IMPORTANT Special Meeting Today: A Special Congregation Meeting is scheduled for after services today to receive an update on the

Organ Fund Drive
and project. Read the information sheet from our Moderator Joan Moore in the
Welcome Center that outlines our agenda for the meeting.

Middleton Scholar: Save the date! We will host missionary Dan Buttry as this year’s Middleton Scholar. Please plan to attend the special programs offered on Thursday, September 25, Friday, September 26 and Sunday, September 28, 2008.

Important Dates to Note:
Budget Night: September 30, 7PM, Congregational

Meeting: October 26, after service, Stewardship Dinner:November 16, after service.

Fall Learning Community: We have some wonderful Learning Community

opportunities being offered this fall!  A complete brochure is available in the

Welcome Center today.

New Mid-Week Class Offering: Pastor Babian’s Lectionary Group meets in the

parlor this Wednesday at 6PM. We will meet in the Bramblett Room.

Communion Offering: We continue to collect the Communion Offering for

Bacone College throughout the month of September.  A detailed description of the work of the College is posted in the Welcome Center and published in the August 31 newsletter.

Worship Planning Team: Pastor Babian is inviting any persons of the congregation to  join him and Jack Ellis in planning our worship services.  If you are interested please call Leslie in the church office.

Street Re-Paving Project on Willits and Ring Road Set by City:  There is an article from the Birmingham Eccentric Newspaper located next to the church office that outlines the project plans. Work to begin very soon. 

Tonight! B’Jazz Vespers Opens Its 13th Season!  Please join us and bring a friend to the 13th Season Opener of our B’Jazz Vespers program on Sunday, September 21, from 6 to PM.

Race Relations & Diversity Taskforce: Invites the public to its October 2 program, “It’s The Economy”, 8AM at The Community House. See note card posted next to the church office.

CROP WALK: A little help can make a BIG DIFFERENCE! Sign up to walk or to sponsor a walker! We need your support in this annual effort. Our goal is $4,000 and we can reach it with your help!  The walk is scheduled for Sunday, October 5th.

All-Church Fall Workday: An all-church fall workday has been scheduled for November 1, 9AM to 1PM.  Many helping hands needed! Breakfast treats provided.
